Sarah's Fundraising Page
This year, I am fundraising for Bark in honor of the Society's teen volunteers! Over the past 8 years, I have had the honor of supporting young Chicagoans through developing and facilitating teen programs. In my work, I am constantly inspired by the compassionate, ambitious youth I meet. Many of the teens that come through our programs stay with us for years, allowing me the privilege of supporting them throughout their high school experience and beyond. Our teen programs provide learning and hands-on volunteer opportunities that develop career skills, inspire compassion, and teach animal care to thousands of teens per year. Perhaps my favorite part of our teen programs, however, is witnessing the bonds that form between participants that last even after their program ends.
The Society is unique among animal shelters in Chicago for many reasons, however the one that is nearest to my heart is the commitment to youth programming; our teen programs are free of charge for our young participants. With your help we can continue providing a supportive environment for Chicago youth to discover and kindle their passion for animals, gain valuable experiences and skills, and form cherished friendships.

The Anti-Cruelty Society has been building a more humane Chicago for people and pets since their founding 1899. Since then, the Society has grown into Chicago's oldest and largest open admission animal welfare organization, and their programs and services improve the lives of thousands of animals and Chicagoans every year. The Anti-Cruelty Society’s mission is to build a community of caring by helping pets and educating people.
The care that the Society provides to animals in need is only possible through the friendship of the community. I hope that you will support me and support Bark 2022. Your generosity will ensure that thousands of abandoned and neglected animals will find hope, comfort, and healing this year.
